Long Beach's award-winning Homeland Cultural Center celebrated "Dancefest 2009" at the Center Theater on Saturday. The free presentation featured diverse performances showcasing music and dancing from various cultures including Mexican, African, Hmong, Chamorro and even a taste of UK heavy metal (Black Sabbath's 'Iron Man' ) and a healthy dose of American B-Boy popping and locking. Celebrating it's 20th anniversary, Homeland offers cultural activities and musical programs for local youth and is a ground-breaking facility of the Long Beach Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Marine.
