The Shore Ultra Lounge on 2nd and PCH hosted an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest group of people to take a shot simultaneously on Friday night. The fund-raising event was the brainchild of Nicholas Grond, Founder and CEO of the non-profit Don't Die Drunk organization, who are putting breathalyzers in local bars in an attempt to reduce the amount of alcohol-impaired accidents.

By the time rolled around for the "shot heard round the world", the joint was jammed and KROQ's DJ Omar Kahn had the crowd into a frenzy, spinning the latest floor fillers from La Roux, Lady Ga Ga and GS BOYZ amongst others.

Was the record broken? Who cares?! We're all drunk!
